Ed is a successful senior executive and entrepreneur with a 28-year track record of building high-growth businesses in fast-paced global telecom markets. His leadership experience spans President/CEO roles at innovative, early-stage companies, and General Manager positions for large multi-national divisions at technology leaders including Alcatel, Newbridge Networks and British Telecom. Prior to CENX, as President and CEO of Bridgewater Systems, Ed led the company’s transformation into a global market leader for mobile data software solutions, ultimately acquired by leading customer experience vendor Amdocs in 2011. Ed has been a Board Director in various public and private technology companies with an emphasis on company strategy, business planning and business development. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Canada's National Ballet School and True Context Corporation (TSXV: TMN).

Nan is renowned in the telecom/networking industry as the founding President of the MEF, which established Carrier Ethernet as the predominant technology and service for businesses and mobile infrastructure. Nan’s drive to unite standardization and certification with dynamic, global campaigns and strategic initiatives, has helped make Carrier Ethernet one of the fastest growing areas in telecoms. Previously Nan held senior VP Marketing roles at Atrica (acquired by Nokia Siemens), Strix Systems (acquired by Private Equity), and was Director of Technology at Bay Networks/SynOptics (acquired by Nortel). A founding Board of Director of 10 Gigabit Ethernet Alliance, Nan has received 30+ industry awards/accolades and has been named as one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Telecom/Internet Industry.

Kim Butler

Chief Financial Officer

With more than 20 years of executive financial and operational experience with Canadian and multinational organizations, Kim has demonstrated extensive accomplishments in areas of financial management, corporate financing, strategic planning, acquisitions, operations and investor relations. Prior to CENX, Kim held Chief Financial Officer positions at Benbria, an enterprise software company, and Bridgewater Systems, a global leader in mobile policy solutions. At Bridgewater, Kim led the company’s initial public offering in 2007, and delivered shareholder value with the successful sale of Bridgewater to Amdocs in 2011. Prior to Bridgewater, Kim held senior finance roles at Asea Brown Boveri and Mitel Corporation. Kim is a member of the Board of Directors for the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation and the Industry Advisory Committee for Entrepreneurship at Algonquin College in Ottawa.

Chris Purdy

Chris Purdy
Chief Technology Officer

Chris leads the development of CENX’s technology vision, as well as professional services, and product management at CENX. A leading technical contributor to the development of Carrier Ethernet, Chris is specification editor of Carrier Ethernet Service Constructs in the MEF’s technical committee. Before CENX, Chris was CTO at Nakina Systems, a telecom operations software vendor, and helped take the company from early stage to one deployed in multiple Tier 1 providers managing thousands of network elements. Prior to Nakina, Chris spent 19 years with Nortel in numerous roles including Professional Services, Senior Network Operations and IT consultant, and Director of Optical Ethernet Management. Chris holds a BASc. in Electrical engineering from the University of Toronto.

Jay McMullan

Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales

Jay leads global sales strategy and oversees worldwide pre-sales and sales. An accomplished sales executive, Jay has demonstrated success in selling complex software solutions to the world’s largest tier 1 service providers. Most recently, Jay led North American sales for Bridgewater Systems and subsequently, was VP North America for Amdocs, a provider of customer experience solutions. Prior to Bridgewater, Jay held sales leadership roles with Belden and CoSine Communications.

Steve Rycroft

Steve Rycroft
Head of Research and Development

Steve Rycroft leads the research and development program at CENX including software development, systems architecture, documentation, quality assurance, and customer support for CENX’s flagship Ethernet Lifecycle Manager solution.

Steve brings more than 15 years’ experience, both as a key technical contributor to the development of Carrier Ethernet services and solutions, and with extensive experience in technology and software development, systems architecture and product lifecycle management. Prior to CENX, Steve led architecture, software design, product verification, and solutions engineering across various telecommunications product lines at start-ups through multinational organizations including Nortel and Nakina.
