President & CEO

Ed is a successful senior executive and entrepreneur with a 28-year track record of building high-growth businesses in fast-paced global telecom markets. His leadership experience spans President/CEO roles at innovative, early-stage companies, and General Manager positions for large multi-national divisions at technology leaders including Alcatel, Newbridge Networks and British Telecom. Prior to CENX, as President and CEO of Bridgewater Systems, Ed led the company’s transformation into a global market leader for mobile data software solutions, ultimately acquired by leading customer experience vendor Amdocs in 2011. Ed has been a Board Director in various public and private technology companies with an emphasis on company strategy, business planning and business development. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Canada's National Ballet School and True Context Corporation (TSXV: TMN). Most recently, Ed was nominated as a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award for his work with CENX.

Nan Chen

Nan Chen
Co-Founder and Executive Vice-Chairman

Nan is the Co-Founder and Executive Vice-Chairman of CENX, a pioneer and leader in Lifecycle Service Orchestration solutions for Software-Defined Networks and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV). He is also the Founder and President of the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF), an industry standards/certifications organization with aggregated member market capitalization of $2 trillion. Prior to founding CENX, Nan held senior roles at Atrica (acquired by Nokia Siemens) and Bay Networks/SynOptics (acquired by Nortel). Nan has been well-recognized in the industry with awards/accolades, including the Leader of the Year in telecom and one of the 100 Most Influential People in the Industry. In his past life, he was a record holder of pole vault at Beijing University. Most recently, Nan was nominated as a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award for his work with CENX.

Kim Butler

Kim Butler
Chief Financial Officer

With more than 20 years of executive financial and operational experience with Canadian and multinational organizations, Kim has demonstrated extensive accomplishments in areas of financial management, corporate financing, strategic planning, acquisitions, operations and investor relations. Prior to CENX, Kim held Chief Financial Officer positions at Benbria, an enterprise software company, and Bridgewater Systems, a global leader in mobile policy solutions. At Bridgewater, Kim led the company’s initial public offering in 2007, and delivered shareholder value with the successful sale of Bridgewater to Amdocs in 2011. Prior to Bridgewater, Kim held senior finance roles at Asea Brown Boveri and Mitel Corporation. Kim is a member of the Board of Directors for the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation and the Industry Advisory Committee for Entrepreneurship at Algonquin College in Ottawa.

Chris Purdy

Chris Purdy
Chief Technology Officer

Chris has lead the development of CENX’s technology vision since the inception of the company. He has served in numerous roles at CENX including heading R&D, Professional Services, and Product Management in support of implementing this vision. In the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF), Chris was a leader in helping to create The Third Network vision, has participated in numerous projects, and was editor of the Ethernet Service Constructs specification in the technical committee. Before CENX, Chris was CTO at Nakina Systems, a telecom operations software vendor. He helped take the company from its early stage to one deployed in multiple Tier 1 providers managing thousands of network elements. Prior to Nakina, Chris spent 19 years with Nortel in numerous roles including Professional Services, Senior Network Operations and IT consultant, and Director of Optical Ethernet Management. Chris holds a BASc. in Electrical engineering from the University of Toronto.

Andrew McDonald

Andrew McDonald
Senior Vice President, Product Management

Andrew McDonald leads Product Management, Marketing and Business development. He brings over 24 years of technology experience in a variety of senior positions. Prior to CENX, Andrew was the President of the IP Platforms business line at Alcatel-Lucent which had a focus on NFV, OSS, Charging and Policy, Customer Experience, and IP Communications. Prior to this, Andrew was VP and GM of Network Management and part of the leadership team of the highly successful IP Division. He grew several products from early stage development into profitable businesses with broad deployment in service providers around the world. Andrew came to Alcatel via the acquisition of Newbridge Networks where he held a variety positions in R&D. He also spent 6 years at American Management Systems leading custom software development projects. Andrew is a graduate of the University of Waterloo, with a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering.

Jay McMullan

Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales

Jay leads global sales strategy and oversees worldwide pre-sales and sales. An accomplished sales executive, Jay has demonstrated success in selling complex software solutions to the world’s largest tier 1 service providers. Most recently, Jay led North American sales for Bridgewater Systems and subsequently, was VP North America for Amdocs, a provider of customer experience solutions. Prior to Bridgewater, Jay held sales leadership roles with Belden and CoSine Communications.

Eamonn Garry

Eamonn Garry
Senior Vice President, Engineering & Operations

Eamonn Garry comes to CENX with over 25 years of technology experience in a variety of senior positions and brings technology, business, and organizational skills to the position of Senior Vice President. Prior to CENX, Eamonn was part of the founding team at Ackroo, a leading cloud based provider of retail solutions, and served as Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Technology Officer. Prior to Ackroo, Eamonn spent six years at Bridgewater Systems in a variety of senior executive roles covering Operations, Product strategy, and Product development culminating in the position of Senior Vice President. He also spent more than 14 years at Nortel, where he held numerous positions, including heading the GSM development team spread between Canada, France, and India and accomplished many industry firsts. Eamonn is a graduate of University College Dublin in Ireland, with a bachelor's degree in hardware and embedded systems design.
